What We Do
Our Mission
We believe that GreenSpaces are an essential element in every community. Our mission is to create, revitalize, renovate and maintain native gardens and micro parks in underserved communities. We focus on small spaces, between 1,000 - 10,000 square feet. We partner with members of the community before we even begin digging, to ensure that each garden reflects the hopes and dreams of the people who will enjoy it and help us maintain it.
Urban GreenSpaces are important for revitalizing communities, reducing financial burdens of healthcare, improving safety, and increasing quality of life.
Psychological benefits of urban GreenSpaces increase with their biodiversity, indicating that 'green' alone is not sufficient; the quality of that green is important as well.
The World Health Organization considers urban GreenSpaces a vital component to human health.
General physical health is greater in neighborhoods with a higher percentage of GreenSpaces.
Greater access to GreenSpaces has been shown to decrease stress and improve social cohesion.
